Milton County was formed from Cherokee, Cobb and Forsyth Counties Dec 18, 1857.
Prior to Dec. 21, 1830 it was part of Cherokee Nation East.
Jan 1. 1932 it merged into Fulton County 
Alpharetta was the County Seat
The County was named for John Milton.
